Situated northwest of Nairobi in Kikuyu, just off the road to Lake Naivasha, Sigona Golf Club offers a challenging and picturesque golfing experience. Designed by acclaimed English course designer Tom Simpson and opened in 1938, this historic course sits on a hilly site that was once a wattle tree plantation.
Originally a 9-hole course built around an elephant watering hole, the club’s logo still features an elephant head. The course was expanded to 18 holes in the 1970s, incorporating new bunkers and shortening several holes to adjust the par from 74 to 72.
At 6,500 feet above sea level near the Rift Valley, Sigona is known for its lush fairways and complex contours. The 465-yard par-4 7th hole, the toughest on the course, exemplifies its challenges with a sharp dogleg left and a sloping fairway, requiring precision for the long approach to a green nestled into the hillside.
Experience the beauty and difficulty of Sigona Golf Club, where each round is a test of skill set against stunning landscapes.
