Founded in the 1920s and formally incorporated in 1943, Muthaiga Golf Club is a prestigious golfing destination steeped in history. Originally serving the white highlands settlers, the club has hosted notable figures like Lord Delamere and numerous dignitaries over the years.
In 1967, Muthaiga Golf Club became the proud host of the inaugural Kenya Open Golf Tournament, a tradition that continues today, attracting international golfing legends such as Vijay Singh, Seve Ballesteros, and Nick Faldo.
Committed to modernizing and enhancing the course, the club enlisted renowned South African designer Peter Matkovich in 2001. The revamped course, officially opened by President Mwai Kibaki in 2004, features numerous lakes and some of the fastest greens in Kenya, offering golfers a blend of challenge and aesthetic appeal in a world-class setting.
