A premier golfing destination in Nairobi, Karen Country Club is a member of the Kenya Golf Union (K.G.U) and the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (K.L.G.U), supporting vibrant golf activities through these affiliations.
Founded on part of Baroness Karen von Blixen’s former coffee estate, the course was established in the 1930s through the efforts of Remi Martin. Unlike the “browns” of the time, Karen’s lush grass greens were a unique draw, setting a high standard for golf in Kenya.
Karen Country Club is renowned for its annual hosting of the Kenyan Open on the European Challenge Tour. The course is a picturesque blend of thriving flora and fauna, with a dedicated focus on nature and wetlands conservation. Its original layout, enriched with water features on the 12th, 14th, and 18th holes, provides diverse and captivating challenges for golfers, making every round an enchanting experience in one of Kenya’s most beautiful settings.
